Educational Events in Graphic Design

As someone with a career in graphic design or who aspires to have a job in graphic design, you'll want to stay abreast of development opportunities within the field. Industry associations such as the AIGA are often facilitators of such events. Here's a few of the types of events they offer periodically to graphic design professionals.

  • AIGA National Design Education Conference seeks to examine the state of graphic design education and how it's changing to meet the needs of future graphic designers. The conference is targeted at design educators.
  • The Annual AIGA Harvard Business School Advanced Leadership Program is a workshop targeted at graphic design executives. In this six-day seminar, participants will have the opportunity to explore ideas in graphic design with a group of leading faculty. Topics that will be addressed include marketing, strategy, branding, communication, and negotiating skills.
  • Image, Space, Object 2 is a workshop held in Denver, Colorado that will explore new methods and design languages of graphic design. The program is open to graphic designers of all types. Participants will learn from experts in morning sessions and work in the afternoon to develop their own skills and apply their learning and unleash their creativity.
