Photoshop CS2, a digital photography and imaging software, was recently launched by Adobe Systems Incorporated. In this latest version of Photoshop, Adobe boasts powerful new features that enhance productivity and editing capabilities.

If you use Photoshop in your job or have recently taken a Photoshop class, you've probably heard about the latest upgrade to Adobe's popular digital photography editing software.

Among other things, Photoshop CS2 offers an enhanced Spot Healing Brush that can aid in removing blemishes and red eyes and other problems common in photographs. New tools such as Vanishing Point and Imaging Warping make retouching and manipulating images easier.

New Interfaces

Users of Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 will notice that software interfaces have become more integrated through a feature called Adobe Bridge, which streamlines file browsing and provides access to a stock photography service, among other functions. In addition, Photoshop's interface has been upgraded to make it more user-friendly, including the ability to tailor settings and define event-based scripts and repetitive operations.

Taking a Photoshop Class

If you're new to Photoshop, you can get up to speed on its features by taking a class. During an introductory course in Photoshop you may learn how to manipulate image size and resolution, cropping images, copying and pasting images, creating layers, and simple composting. A more advanced class may include instruction on vector layers, layer masks, ImageReady, and simple animation, among other tools.

Jobs Using Photoshop

There are a variety of jobs in which Photoshop is used. Graphic designers are one of the most obvious jobs in which Photoshop is used. Others may include desktop publisher, film or video editor, photographer, printer, or artist.
